My husband has had a sore back recently, so he and I went for an early Father's Day treat yesterday to a hair salon near our home where they also give full-body massages. This kind of massage has been dubbed the "working man's" massage-- inexpensive (around $15 each), given with your clothes on and lasting for one hour. Conceivably, you could enjoy a massage like this on your lunch break.
We had a small room together where they started out by rubbing our heads. Both of us thought this part of the procedure lasted a little too long. I'm glad I don't have a sensitive scalp, since my gal pulled my hair so hard my body slid towards her a little bit. This was weird, but the funniest thing by far was when she put her index fingers INSIDE my ears and used them to lift my head up off the table for a few seconds. I almost laughed out-loud. My poor ears were rubbed so much that it was starting to hurt. I was just about to ask her to stop when she moved on to my temples and cheek bones.
The experience became much more relaxing after that, they did a great job on our shoulders, backs and legs. We walked out of the salon quite disheveled, but very relaxed! If you ever come for a visit, we can take you there! We just need to learn how to say, "Less time on the ears, more time on the back, please!"
