Photos: Beijing Botanical Garden

Our friends took us to visit the Beijing Botanical Garden last Saturday. We went early to avoid the heat, but not early enough! It was pretty hot and muggy, but thankfully the sky was clear. I enjoyed visiting here, and would go back every weekend if I could. These pictures will give you a glimpse of why I like it: the scenery, the exercise, and the people-watching, one of my favorite past-times.

The many ponds hold a variety of beautiful flowers and interesting creatures.

Many ladies carry umbrellas to protect their skin from the sun.

Groups of people gather to play cards and picnic in the shade.

These pops are called "Green tongues" for obvious reasons.
