The spicy cabbage they serve in restaurants here is delicious, and I decided to try and make my own. It's a healthy, flavorful side dish, and its easy; you should try it!
1. Start by cooking some onion rings (red or white or some of both, like I did) in a little bit of oil (I used olive oil). Cook them until they are very soft and translucent , about 5 minutes.
2. Add another drizzle of oil if needed and toss in some chopped cabbage with the onions. I used Napa cabbage this time, but have used red and white before, with good results as well. Stir fry the cabbage until tender (around 10 minutes).
3. While the cabbage cooks, add up to 2 Tablespoons of hot chili sauce. We like the flavor of Sriracha, but you can experiment with different kinds of sauces. One tablespoon is plenty for us!
4. When the cabbage is tender, drizzle all over with soy sauce to taste, and there you have it! Spicy Chinese cabbage.
Enjoy!
